NJ 42 begins at U.S. 322 in Monroe Township and ends at the eastern terminus of Interstate 76 at the Interstate 295 interchange. The highway's northern eight miles are its busiest, as they are part of the North-South Freeway, connecting Philadelphia and Atlantic City.

Now just 1/4 mile out of the split
of the lanes. The express lanes are for traffic heading to Philadelphia, and the highway will become Interstate 76 West. The local lanes provide access to all remaining exits along Interstate 76 in New Jersey, including Interstate 295, Interstate 676, and U.S. 130. |
