Interstate 35W provides access from Interstate 35 to the Fort Worth area. It is 11 miles shorter than its Dallas counterpart, Interstate 35E, and generally sees less traffic. The only major bottleneck on this interstate is in north Fort Worth, near the Interstate 820 and U.S. 81/U.S. 287 junctions.
