Interstate 579 Pennsylvania
Interstate 579 connects the Liberty Tunnel to Interstate 279 in the eastern part of downtown Pittsburgh. Interstate 579 does not directly connect to Interstate 279 South or to either direction of Interstate 376. Exit numbers are not used on the 1.57-mile interstate.

Interstate 579 North begins on the Liberty Bridge over the Monongahela River. Obviously, the bridge is not up to interstate standards, as there is no division between opposing directions of traffic.
