Highway Review:
U.S. 50 is the Ocean Gateway on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Before then, U.S. 50 serves as a very important freeway from Washington, DC to Annapolis. The freeway between the Capital Beltway (Exit 7) and MD 70 (Exit 24) is also secret Interstate 595.

After crossing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge between exits 32 and 37, U.S. 50 runs as a freeway, with several non-interstate standard interchanges where an almost 90-degree turn is required right from the freeway lanes. U.S. 301 splits from U.S. 50 after a long duplex, and the freeway ends. U.S. 50 heads east for a few more miles before turning south. The highway runs north-south through Easton before heading back to the east in Cambridge. U.S. 50 then runs around the north side of Salisbury on a bypass completed in early 2003. After leaving Salisbury behind, U.S. 50 gets ever so closer to the Atlantic Ocean. Thirty miles after leaving Salisbury, U.S. 50 finds its eastern end at MD 528 in Ocean City, 3,073 miles away from its western end in Sacramento, CA.
