TX 114 begins at the New Mexico State Line in the Texas panhandle. After going through Lubbock, the highway continues its way toward Dallas.

After passing by the Texas Motor Speedway, TX 114 intersects Interstate 35W. From there, the highway is 2 lanes to Grapevine, where the freeway begins. After that, TX 114 intersects TX 121, and after a short duplex, TX 114 continues to the southeast, where it eventually finds its end at TX 183 a few miles northwest of downtown Dallas.
