U.S. 13 Virginia (Page 1)

U.S. 13 is the main north-south route through the eastern shores of Virginia and Maryland. It provides the only north-south crossing of the Chesapeake Bay via the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, which connects Virginia Beach to Cape Charles. On Day Four of Delaware Trip Part Two, I drove U.S. 13 from Interstate 64 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, to MD/DE 54 near Delmar, Delaware.

	The speed limit on the CBBT is set at 55 mph, even though rarely anybody goes that speed.
	The CBBT is 17 miles long.
	A snack/gift shop is located about six miles north of the southern end of the CBBT. From there, I took this picture of the Chesapeake Bay, looking east towards the Atlantic Ocean.
	U.S. 13 North as it prepares to go into the first of two tunnels during the CBBT, the Thimble Shoal Channel Tunnel. The tunnels are still two lanes, but another tunnel will probably be constructed in the future to accomodate four lanes throughout the CBBT.
