DAY ONE REVIEW
Wednesday, July 14, 2004

Map of Day One Route

The day began a little later than planned because I had a flat tire the night before that I needed to get fixed before heading out on the road. I finally got out of Oklahoma City just before 8 am and headed south on Interstate 35. Once I made it to Interstate 635 in north Dallas, I went west on that highway to drive the part of it that I had not driven yet at that time. I then went southeast on TX 114 to Loop 12 South to Spur 408 South to Interstate 20 East to Interstate 35E South to Interstate 35W North to Interstate 20 West. After that, I drove Interstate 820 around Fort Worth and met back up with Interstate 20 West, then took Interstate 35W North to Interstate 30 West to its western terminus, turned around, and went east on Interstate 30 for the rest of the day. I ended up in Bryant, AR, just outside of Little Rock, after 774 miles and 12 hours of driving.

DAY TWO REVIEW

Map of Day Two Route

This driving day began at the crack of dawn and ended at sunset. I left the Comfort Inn of Bryant, AR, just before 7 AM, and headed towards Little Rock. After driving Interstate 30 to its eastern end, thus clinching that interstate, I proceeded to clinch Interstate 430, 530, 630, and 440, in that order. I then went north on U.S. 67 to the current northern end of its freeway in Newport, backtracked a bit, and went east on AR 14 to U.S. 63. I took U.S. 63 south to Interstate 55, which I then took to northern Mississippi so I could visit the Welcome Center for a new state map. After that, I went back into Tennessee, and clinched Interstate 240 around Memphis. The rest of the day was mostly spent on Interstate 55 toward St. Louis, except for a jog along both directions of Interstate 155. I ended up in Arnold, MO, just south of St. Louis, at another Comfort Inn.

Day Two Trip Log:
Departed Comfort Inn (Bryant, AR) - 6:50 AM; mile 72,305
Citgo (Newport, AR) - Gas - 10:56 AM; mile 72,576
Mississippi Welcome Center - 1:33 PM; mile 72,730

DAY THREE REVIEW

Map of Day Three Route

When it rained on this day, it poured! It rained nonstop from St. Louis to between Springfield and Joplin! Plus, another vehicle crossed the median on Interstate 44 and almost hit me! Mud from the median hit my car; that's how close it was! Besides that, it was a race against time, as I had to be at work by 3 pm!

Day Three Trip Log:
Departed Comfort Inn (Arnold, MO) - 6:02 AM; mile 73,123
Mobil (St. Robert, MO) - Gas - 8:25 AM; mile 73,275
Texaco (Stroud, OK) - Gas - 1:16 PM; mile 73,599
Arrived Oklahoma City, OK - 2:16 PM; mile 73,663
