DELAWARE TRIP
Interstate 695 Maryland

Spanning 45 miles in a loop around the Baltimore area, Interstate 695 is the beltway for the city of 651,154 residents. Providing access to the suburbs of Pikesville, Towson, Parkville, and Essex, the highway is tolled for about five miles between Exit 42 and Exit 2 on the Francis Scott Key Bridge over the Patapsco River. During its time on the bridge, the mile markers reset to zero. On Day Four of the Delaware Trip, I drove Interstate 695 from Interstate 70 south and east to Interstate 97.

	Interstate 695 South at Exit 15B - U.S. 40 West - Ellicott City.
	Interstate 695 South at Exit 15A - U.S. 40 East - Baltimore.
	Interstate 695 South at Exit 14 - Edmondson Ave.
	Interstate 695 South at Exit 13 - MD 144 - Frederick Rd./Catonsville.
	Interstate 695 South mileage sign just south of MD 144. MD 372 is one mile ahead, U.S. 1 is 1 1/2 miles ahead, and Interstate 95 is 2 1/2 miles away. The next few miles are part of a construction zone on the beltway.
	Another mileage sign just 1/2 mile down the road. An odd observation is that MD 372 is not on this sign, even though we are not to that interchange yet and is the next one.

	Now just one mile until Interstate 95, Exit 12A for U.S. 1 is approaching in 1/2 mile. The signs have obviously been moved from their original places due to the construction.
	Interstate 695 South at Exit 12A - U.S. 1 - Southwestern Blvd./Arbutus. Once again, the construction has displaced the signs temporarily.
	Interstate 695 South at Exit 11A - Interstate 95 North - Baltimore, and Exit 11B - Interstate 95 South - Washington.
	Interstate 695 South at Exit 9 - Hollins Ferry Rd./Lansdowne. Interstate 895 is 1/2 mile ahead.
	Interstate 695 South at Exit 8A - Interstate 895 North - Tunnel.
	Interstate 695 South at Exit 8 - Hammonds Ferry Rd./MD 168/Nursery Rd.
	Interstate 695 begins turning more to the east as Interstate 97 approaches in 1 1/2 miles and MD 295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway) is approaching in about 1/2 mile.
	Interstate 695 South at Exit 7A - MD 295 South - Washington.
	Interstate 695 South at Exit 7B - MD 295 North - Balt-Wash Pkwy/Baltimore.
	Interstate 695 East approaching Exit 4 - Interstate 97 - 1 mile. Exit 6B for MD 170 South is in about 1/2 mile.
	Interstate 695 East at Exit 6B - MD 170 South - Linthicum.
	Interstate 695 East at Exit 6A - MD 170 North - N. Linthicum. Interstate 97 is now 1/2 mile away.
	Interstate 695 East at Exit 5 - MD 648 - Baltimore/Annapolis Road - Ferndale. The ramp for Interstate 97 also begins here.
	Gore point signage at Exit 4 for Interstate 97 South. The two right lanes continue as Interstate 695 East and head over the Interstate 97 lanes.
