DELAWARE TRIP
Washington, DC Interstates
With only one two-digit interstate barely entering and two three-digit interstates actually inside it, the District of Columbia isn't necessarily a hotbed for interstates. However, just outside of the District of Columbia, the Capital Beltway plays a pivotal part into the daily traffic needs of the nation's capital. On Day Five of the Delaware Trip, I had the great privilege of driving on Interstate 66 and Interstate 395 in the District of Columbia. I also was able to drive on U.S. 50, which enters central Washington, D.C. as a freeway on both ends, and serves as Constitution Ave. in town. Outside of the District of Columbia, I drove the Capital Beltway Inner Loop between Interstate 395 and Interstate 66, all of Interstate 395, and Interstate 66 between Interstate 495 and its eastern end in Washington.
