DELAWARE TRIP
Philadelphia Interstates
Philadelphia, one of the largest cities in the country, is the largest city in Pennsylvania at a population of over 1.5 million. Four interstates facilitate traffic movement in the metropolitan area. Interstate 95 runs along the Delaware River on the southern and eastern sides of Philadelphia. Interstate 76 runs north-south coming into Philadelphia from both directions, then runs east-west just south of downtown. Interstate 676 squeezes its way through downtown on a tight 4-lane alignment, and Interstate 476, while never getting close to Philadelphia, does serve the western suburbs. Four toll bridges are in place to cross from Pennsylvania to/from New Jersey, but toll is only charged for traffic heading into Philadelphia.
